Proper Fighting Stance

When I told my roommate I wanted to learn self defense, he looked at me like I was an foreigner speaking gibberish. “This place's safe, we're in a campus. There's campus police”. I fucking know there are police in the campus mate. That's not the point. Learning how to fight is, inherently, a good thing. It's the domain of our primal instinct. We are all bloodthirsty animals fighting for food deep in the forest, with no lights and no logic. Much like fighting, thinking is also a primal instinct, and one depends on the other. If you're too afraid to fight, consequently you won't think, and the other way around. What's the difference between right foot left, left foot right, facing opponent and dialectic materialism? None.
